In my capacity as a Solutions Architect, I meticulously established an Ubuntu 22.04 server hosted within Hetzner's Finland data center. This encompassed the proficient installation of Zabbix Server 6.4, fortified with an automated, self-renewing Lets Encrypt SSL Certificate. The Zabbix ecosystem was meticulously structured, with a focus on robust security measures. To ensure an intricate level of security, I adeptly configured Zabbix agents for public hosts to communicate securely, utilizing PSK encryption protocols, directly reporting crucial data to the central Zabbix server. Moreover, the architecture was fortified with strategically positioned Zabbix Proxies, expertly set up to efficiently collect data from local hosts within distinct networks. These proxies, implemented for redundancy, seamlessly transmitted the collected data back to the Zabbix server, maintaining PSK encryption standards. In pursuit of enhanced redundancy and performance, the Zabbix proxies were thoughtfully configured on both virtual machines and Raspberry Pi units, showcasing a comprehensive approach to optimize the monitoring infrastructure. The resulting architecture reflects a robust and secure Zabbix monitoring system, structured for optimal performance and reliability.
